Super Bowl 50: Bringing Panther Pride Into Your Home Decor

February 7, 2016 by author

If you have been hearing a lot of Keep Pounding, Dab on ’em, and “Sweet Caroline” sung after every Panthers win, it’s because the Panther’s have had a close to perfect prowess this season. Whether or not you are a football fan, I’m sure you are aware that our hometown Carolina Panthers made it to Super Bowl 50!

In honor of showing off some Panther pride, here are a few ways to incorporate Carolina colors into your home.

Turquoise, navy, and white make a great mix in this cozy bedroom. The blues in the headboard, pillows, & throw blankets tie the room together perfectly.

Get RED-dy for the holidays

December 4, 2015 by author

While the neighbors are setting up their inflatable Santas and designing light displays that can be seen from space, we are getting RED-dy for the holidays with a much simpler approach: the color red.

Whether it’s holly berries, ribbon, or tablecloths, using various shades of red throughout your space can make your home look festive and jolly without raising your electricity bill or blinding your neighbors. Here are some ideas to get you started!

Spruce up your spruce with a festive tree skirt

Try a festive tree skirt
See more great ideas on our Pinterest page

Often we spend most of our decorating efforts on what goes on the tree, but this year, try thinking a bit more about what goes under it.

Design an elegant table setting

Swell Decor - Christmas candle centerpiece
We don’t speak German, but we love this centerpiece from Wunderweib on Pinterest!

Sometimes simpler is better, and it definitely works for this candle centerpiece. Bring this look into your space with only a cake plate, some white candles, and a string of berries.

Bring in the flavors of the holidays

Swell Decor - candy cane window
Just be sure to keep these decorations away from kids and pets!

With a spool of ribbon and a box of candy canes, you can perfectly accent your mantle, tree, or window. Be creative with how you bring this fun red element into your space!

And the smells!

Swell Decor - cinnamon napkins
Your dinner table will smell festive and look elegant, too

Just imagine how elements like cinnamon and holly berries could spice up your holiday dinner party. This unique idea brings together the sights, smells, and tastes of the most wonderful time of the year.

Simplify, simplify, simplify

Swell Decor - mason jar berries
Sometimes a pop of red is all you need

There’s no need to add crazy accents to your Christmas cocktail. Just a sprig of pine and some bold berries make a perfect pair for any drink you serve up for friends and family.

Try something different

Swell Decor - red chair and birds
Sometimes different is best. Find other unconventional ideas on our Pinterest page

If you’re a little less conventional, try this modern look. Clean lines and bold pops of red are sure to have your guests talking.

Bring in natural elements

Swell Decor - accents to natural elements
We’re loving this idea from DigsDigs!

If green is more your style than red, consider adding some rosy accents to your pine cones and cinnamon sticks. Your table will look amazing and smell wonderful, too!

Keep it clean and simple

Swell Decor - white red green gift
Consider making your gifts part of the decor

Red can sometimes be a bit over-powering, but when kept in moderation and complemented with simple whites and greens, the richness of the color really stands out.

With some of these ideas, you’ll be RED-dy to make your home merry and bright for the holidays!

Swell Decor - keep calm christmas is coming
